About Me
- My name is Charlotte. After a successful career with the Ministry of Defence I have followed my heart and returned to working with animals. Having shared my life and home with dogs of all breeds and sizes, both long and short term, I know the benefits as well as the challenges this can present. Bringing together my theoretical and practical knowledge, and using positive reinforcement techniques, I work with owners to help them build a lifelong bond and trusting relationship with their pet.
- The current dog in my life is a fabulous yellow labrador. He was originally supposed to work for a living as an assistance dog for Dogs for Good, but lockdown delayed his training and a few behaviour based concerns meant he was withdrawn from the programme and offered to us as a pet instead. He has his own Instagram page (the_magnificent_mr_ty) and can regularly be seen in Canine Insight training videos demonstrating some of the techniques I teach.
- As well as working with clients on an individual basis for Canine Insight I am proud to be part of the South West training team for assistance dog charity Service Dogs UK, a puppy boarder and speaker for Dogs for Good, and teach Bronze and Silver level Foundations & Focus, and my ‘Modern Manners (for the dog about town)’ group classes for Paws4Teaching .
